About the Project
Basement $150,000 and Over:
This is where the old world meets the eclectic modern era. This couple recently purchased their mansion in one of the most prominent gated-community in McLean, VA.
With lots in their plate, they wanted to transform their basement into an upscale entertainment area for their frequent friends and family gathering. Husband desired a large-scale bar and gaming room,
while wife wanted her secluded wine cellar and tasting area.
After consulting our design staff, it was time to bring the drafted sketches into reality. By the way of moving few loads bearing interior walls and install steel beams to support second for stone fireplace, we made headway to achieve gaining a big floor area, and it was just perfect to lay-out our massive bar in middle of it. Excavating through concrete slab for plumbing and drain lines were laid for bar sink, ice
maker and much more.
The herringbone solid brick floor has enhanced the early Florance back street look under starry hanging Italian string lights. The dark and rustic cherry cabinetry with exotic stone top surrounded with ledgestone on its walls wrapped all around this bar room.
Copper ceiling panels was magnificent touch to bring in eclectic look, hammered copper sink and beautiful chandelier were just few of our designer touches to upscale this bodega.
Just to left of this bar we have opened a bearing wall and lay-out our wine cellar room through a knotty pine door. Wrapped in irregular veneer stone walls, customer wine racks with tasting island in dark Mahogony wine racks brought her dream to reality. We have installed a new chilling system foe climate control for her prized wine selections. Gathering, drinking wine and gossiping just met their match.
One of his bucket lists was the poker/gaming room just outside from the crowded area. We have set a secluded space few steps down from main area, featured with a 70-gallon aquarium on the back wall and a very unique hanging lights over the poker table.
Archways, knotty pine doors and large-scale old look porcelain tiles are just to name a few other for this unique and very old-world Italian pub.
